Bay Area Science Fair

SANTA ROSA, Calif.-- Penguin Empire Robotics showed off years of work at the Bay Area Science Festival on October 27, exhibiting their robots to attendees from across the North Bay.

Ten team members and two mentors attended the event, showing demonstrations of their robots and a livestream of the Capital City Classic competition, which other representatives of the team were attending. Event attendees were able to observe the robots in action and even try their hand at driving.

“My favorite part of the event was seeing how excited the kids got, especially with the frisbee robot,” Team Vice President Rachel Lobl. “I think that the Bay Area Science Festival is a great opportunity to reach kids who are already interested in robotics. I got a lot of questions from kids about how they could join when they are older.”

Penguin Empire Robotics is the only team in the FIRST Robotics Competition from Marin County and plans to participate in the 2019 competition.
